The other channels are about the plug-ins. This one is for everything else. Mixing, mastering, rooms, microphones, monitoring, surround, tape, converters, what went wrong at a session last week, an argument about gain staging that nobody will win. All of it fits here. Two house rules, and they are short: Be useful or be quiet about other people's work. Disagreeing with a method is fine. Telling somebody their record is rubbish is not. Name what you are talking about. "A compressor" helps nobody. "An LA-2A style opto on the bus at two dB" starts a conversation.
